Hello Members,
Can you believe it’s October already?……where did the summer go??….Don’t put your car into hibernation just yet; Kay, along with the Corvette Community still has a few more events planned for our enjoyment.
Hope everyone enjoyed themselves at the “War Veterans Tribute Cruise-in”, it was an awesome event. We can’t do enough for the men & women who defend our freedom. This event is good for the soul. Yes, we helped raise money for their activities fund but it’s not just about the money. Spending the day with the Vets, being surrounded by proud Americans, I can’t explain the feeling that comes over me at this yearly event. Okay, here comes all of the “Thanks”, thanks to Glenn Jones for making the connection for us three years ago, thanks to Steven for heading up this event, thanks to the entire C.C.R.I. noodle brigade for parking over 600 cars with ease. I’m sure Steven will have all of the numbers for us by October’s Meeting. I chatted with Kay just moments ago, she told me about the following events:
October 6th – Jean Singleton and the Paul Masse Group will be walking at Roger Williams Park for the Annual Cancer Walk. The club has made plans for the past few years but the weather has always interfered.
October 6th – Vetts in the Village, a Corvette gathering that’s always a lot of fun. If you are a new member and have been looking for the right event to jump in and take the club for a “test drive” this is your event….c’mon what are you waiting for?
October 14th – Join me in the Columbus Day Parade, contact myself at rjcamp@cox.net if you would like to display your Corvette in the Federal Hill Columbus Parade.
October 16th – Our monthly social will be at Pinelli’s. It’s always a club favorite, not sure if it’s the food or the fun of BYOB.
October 18th & 19th – The 2014 Caravan final Meet and Greet on Cape Cod, Mass. You don’t want to miss out on this event. Contact Randy Flock, there are still a few rooms left.
That’s all for now.
